Elson Space Engineering co-developed the original Zephyr II HAPS in association with QinetiQ in 2002.
Andy Elson was the founder of the Astigan HAPS project.
From 2013 – 2018 Elson Space Engineering conducted the design and testing of the Astigan fixed wing HAPS platforms with a series of successful low and mid-altitude test flights.
Elson Space Engineering provides R&D expertise in both Lighter than Air (airship & balloon) and Heavier than Air (fixed wing, solar-powered glider) HAPS systems.
Elson Space España SL was established in 2014 to design, build and test fly solar-powered gliders capable of carrying powerful earth observation payloads.
